Cash register fillings
The statutory health insurance fund will cover the so-called “cash fillings” on the posterior teeth, which are free of charge for you as a patient with health insurance. Amalgam fillings will be banned throughout Europe in 2025, which is why we no longer offer them in our practice. Alternatively, we can offer you cement fillings, which unfortunately have a somewhat shorter retention time as they sometimes wash out and have to be replaced more frequently. They are suitable as build-up fillings if teeth are to be crowned. If it is important to you that your fillings are not visible and are designed to match the color of your teeth, you will have to make an additional payment. Layered tooth-colored fillings made of composite (plastic) are of higher quality than amalgam fillings and cement fillings. Modern composites and adhesives are constantly adapted to the latest scientific findings and make your fillings almost invisible. Laboratory-made inlays are an even higher-quality alternative. If you have any further questions, please contact our practice.
