Dental surgery includes various operations in the oral cavity, involving the teeth, soft tissue and jaw. Surgical procedures may include the following:

• Surgical tooth removal: removal of wisdom teeth or destroyed teeth
• Surgical periodontal therapy: bone augmentation, surgical cleaning of deep gum pockets
• Root tip resection: removal of the root tip if symptoms persist after root canal treatment
• Hemisection: partial removal of a tooth
• Implantation: implantation of an artificial tooth root
